Update on company names
Since implementation on 1 October the Companies Act has raised many issues not least in relation to Companies House policy regarding company names and in particular the "same as" rules.
Companies House guidance notes GP1 - 1 October outline the changes.

Also on 2 October 2009 OPSI published The Company Limited Liability Partnership and Business Names (Sensitive Words and Expressions) Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/2615) (the Regulations) which came into force on 1 October 2009 together with an explanatory memorandum.

Registrar's Powers - 1 October 2009 - Informal correction details published

On 1 October 2009 section 1075 of the Companies Act 2006 came into force. This is a new provision which gives the registrar the power to correct a document which appears to be incomplete or inconsistent before registering it. From 1 October informal correction will only be implemented in respect of the registration of mortgages and charges. View full guidance on informal correction.
